Window Tint Requirements By Vehicle Type

Sedans

Windshield:

Non-reflective tint can be applied on the top 6 inches of the windshield.

Reflection: Reflectivity needs to not exceed 20%.

Front Side Windows:

Needs to allow over 32% light transmission.

Reflection: Reflectivity needs to not exceed 20%.

Back Side Windows:

Needs to allow over 32% light transmission.

Reflection: Reflectivity needs to not exceed 20%.

Rear Window:

Needs to allow over 32% light transmission.

Reflection: Reflectivity needs to not exceed 20%.

SUVs & Vans

Windshield:

Non-reflective tint can be applied on the top 6 inches of the windshield.

Reflection: Reflectivity needs to not exceed 20%.

Front Side Windows:

Needs to allow over 32% light transmission.

Back Side Windows:

Any level of darkness can be applied.

All tint colors are allowed.

Certification Requirements

Film manufacturers required to certify the film sold. Confirm with your dealer if certified film is used.

Certification Stickers

The sticker/label of compliance to identify legal tinting required between the film & glass on each tinted window.

Penalties and Enforcement

Maximum $100 and/or 10 days prison for first conviction. Second conviction within a year max $200 and/or 30 days jail. Third and subsequent offense within a year $500 and/or maximum 3 months prison.
