The Tint Shoppe Detroit

Really bummed and disappointed about the work I had done here on FOUR separate occasions. After being referred by several close people after I was already planning to get my car tinted by another company (date set and all), I decided to give this place a shot after reading and hearing about all the highly suggested reviews. I originally brought my car here on April 19th with the plan of having the windows tinted all around with the nova series carbon film (windshield 50%, all around 15%), along with having the headlights tinted in light smoke and the taillights tinted in medium smoke - all together which Aaron (owner) quoted me at $800, a job which I honestly had high expectations for. Later that day, I had picked up the car and it looked nearly flawless (work was not done by Aaron, but by other employees). Earlier that morning, Aaron had gone over all the details regarding tinting, including that unfortunately things can happen in our opposite favor while the film cures - something I clearly understood. Not everything is perfect the first time around. I followed all the rules to a T about not rolling windows down, not washing the car, etc. Within 3 days, the tint had started bubbling and the edges on the headlights/taillights were lifting. I ended up bringing the car back a few days later and had the outside tint redone (again, work done by other employees). I was expecting the results to be much better this time around. Within a week it was even worse than the 1st time. Poorly cured and sloppy/uneven cutting. It looked downright horrible. We set up another appt for May 22nd. 3rd times the charm? Not even close. Again, within a week, it still was not looking any better. I was extremely irritated at this point. Fast forward to July 14th, Aaron himself took on the job to try and fix the 3 previous tint jobs that were done by previous employees who I later found out were supposedly fired for their work. I went to pick up the car later that afternoon and it looked good at the time. He got some of the bubbles out of the window tint which was great, but not even a week later and the tint on the outside of the car was looking the exact same as the last 3 times. Why am I the only one who has had these results? I totally understand that the process doesn't always go as planned, but FOUR attempts at fixing the tint and it still looks this horrible? I really don't get it. I seriously wish I had stuck with getting my car tinted at the original place I had scheduled with rather than here. I can't even begin to explain my frustration with trying to get in touch with those who work here and simply just wanting decent work done on a new car that I love. I wish I could be refunded for this experience (hell, I'd let them take the tint off the entire car too if they wanted). Maybe it was the previous employees? Maybe someone was having a bad day? Maybe things like this just happen with tint? I don't know. Now I'm out approx $350 just for the headlights/taillights and have a noticeably poor tint job that I'll have to get redone elsewhere. I appreciate Aaron's efforts in trying to fix the situation and he seems like a good guy and for that, I'll give the place 2 stars. Sorry, but I would not recommend anyone to even take the time of day to go here if they'll be ending up with the same experience as I had. It's just not worth it.

I was a bit apprehensive at first as I want to go to high-quality locations but the reviews intrigued me to try this shop out. I will definitely come back here if the need arises. Staff was very respectable and was able to answer any questions I had over the phone, and even in person. I had my 1990 Skyline tinted here and it came out fantastic! Fairly quick turn around too, would totally recommend coming here. Fair prices too! Cheapest I have found for good quality tint.
